Asian shares mixed, oil steady ahead of July 4 holiday in US

On Monday, shares in Asia were divided while U.S. futures declined ahead of the U.S. vacation of July 4.

In Hong Kong and Seoul, benchmarks decreased while they increased in Tokyo, Shanghai, and Sydney. 

After rising sharply on Friday, oil prices remained stable.

On Monday, the Shanghai Composite index increased 0.1 percent to 3,392.22 and Tokyo's Nikkei 225 index gained 0.6 percent to 26,106.29. 

The S&P/ASX 200 index for Australia increased 1.2 percent to 6,616.30.
