Following the horrific shooting at an LGBTQ club in Colorado on Saturday night, DOVE CAMERON is using her platform to remind people of the value of "queer visibility."

At the 2022 American Music Awards on Sunday, pop diva Cameron addressed the murder of five people at Colorado Springs

Club Q when she accepted the New Artist of the Year award and dedicated her trophy to the "gay community at general."

And I want to draw your attention to groups like GLAAD and the Trevor Project for what you can do right now, the "Boyfriend" singer continued

I wish to emphasise that you are created perfectly right. And you are adored so much.

Cameron was nominated for the award against “Abcdefu” singer Gayle, “Bad Habit” star Steve Lacy, “Big Energy” rapper Latto, and Italian band Måneskin.

(Cameron took home the award for Best New Artist at the 2022 VMAs and thanked fans for “getting an overtly queer song” on the radio.)
