‘Guess I am a rock star now.’ Dolly Parton joins Eminem and Duran Duran on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

At the Saturday Rock and Roll Hall of Fame gala, which admitted its most diverse class of superstars in years in an homage to rock's ethos,

Dolly Parton led a supergroup in a stirring song of "Jolene" while Eminem brought the entire audience to its feet.

Because she didn't feel rock enough, the 76-year-old had attempted to turn down the renowned award.

I didn't understand at the time that it's about a little more than that," she added with her contagious smile

Before Dolly Parton came to the stage in a gorgeous body-con dress covered in chains, performers including P!nk and Brandi Carlile sang Dolly standards like "9 to 5".

In order to unveil her brand-new rock song, the star then jammed out on a guitar covered in crystals.

It was an apt nod to Eminem's knack for the profane, which routinely bled into the darkly humorous.
