Lea Michele’s ‘Funny Girl’ tickets now $2,500 after Beanie Feldstein’s exit
Following Beanie Feldstein's resignation from the Broadway revival of "Funny Girl
the 35-year-old "Glee" actress will take over the part of Fanny Brice.
Starting on September 6, Michele will play the lead role in the stage production, and demand for her performance has already soared.
SeatGeek, a ticket marketplace, reports that prices range from $570 to $2,500 for tickets to see the show at New York City's August Wilson theatre.
These costs do not additionally include the substantial $500 service charge.
Instead of her scheduled exit date of September 25, Feldstein, 29, stated that she would be leaving the play earlier than planned on July 31.
Before abandoning the project, she was "essentially fired," according to sources quoted by Page Six on July 11.
Julie Benko, her replacement, will perform prior to Michele starting her run later.
Tickets for events in July and August are selling for $69, with weekday performances only costing $49.
A dream realised is putting it mildly. I feel utterly privileged to be a part of this outstanding cast and production and make a Broadway stage comeback as Fanny Brice.
