Mary Mara, 'ER' and 'Nash Bridges' actress, dies at 61 in apparent drowning

has passed away in what New York officials have determined to be a drowning accident. She was 61.

A woman named Mara was discovered Sunday morning just after 8 a.m. in the St

Lawrence River close to Cape Vincent, in upstate New York, not far from the Canadian border, according to the New York State Police.

According to a press statement, early evidence from the NYSP "indicates the victim (Mara) drowned while swimming." 

Mara's body was examined and "showed no signs of foul play." To ascertain the precise cause of death
