Michelle Obama ‘Heartbroken’ Over Roe V. Wade Being Overturned
Former First Lady Michelle Obama criticised the Supreme Court for removing citizens'
rights to "make educated decisions about their own bodies"
after the Court decided to overturn "Roe v. Wade."
In a statement released on June 24 following the US Supreme Court's 6-3 decision in Roe v. Wade,
which overturns Roe v. Wade by a 5-4 majority, former First Lady Michelle Obama remarked,
I am heartbroken tonight." Obama, 58, said she was "heartbroken for folks around this country
when almost half of the states in the U.S. immediately outlawed access to abortion.
