Nicki Minaj Receives No Nominations at 2023 Grammys After ‘Super Freaky Girl’ Was Removed From Rap Categories
The nominations for the 2023 Grammy Awards have been announced and Nicki Minaj is nowhere to be found.
The Recording Academy announced the probable winners for next year's award presentation on Tuesday, November 15
Jack Harlow's "Churchill Downs" featuring Drake, DJ Khaled's "God Did" featuring Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, John Legend,
and Fridayy, Kendrick Lamar's "The Heart Part 5," Gunna and Future's "Pushin P" featuring Young Thug, and Future's "Wait For U" featuring Drake and Tems are the nominees for Best Rap Song.
Nicki's No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100, "Super Freaky Girl," which was previously known to not compete in this category, also received no nominations in the pop categories
Back in October, it was reported that The Recording Academy had removed Nicki Minaj's hit song "Super Freaky Girl" from consideration in the rap category
and were considering the Rick James-sampled song a pop track. She reacted to the news on Twitter.
