Tropical Depression Nine forms, is on an early path toward Florida as a hurricane
Although the path could yet vary, the tropical depression has formed in the Caribbean
and Florida was included in the forecast cone early on Friday.
The southeastern Caribbean saw the formation of Tropical Depression Nine overnight on Friday.
It is headed for Florida next week and poses a hurricane threat.
At 5 a.m. on Friday, the system was about 600 miles east-southeast of Jamaica and had maximum sustained winds of 35 mph, with greater gusts
. According to the National Hurricane Center, it is travelling at a 13 mph west-northwesterly direction.
