University Of California, Berkeley Prepares To Offer Nicki Minaj Course In 2023
According to the instructor, the seminar is interested in looking at Minaj "in the context of larger historical-social systems" and "hip hop feminisms."
Graduates of "high school" who are admirers of Nicki Minaj may be in for a treat at University of California, Berkeley.
During the spring 2023 semester, the institution will offer an African American studies course with the rapper's name as the subject.
In the coming year, there will be around 90-minute-long lectures on Tuesdays and Thursdays titled "Nicki Minaj: The Black Barbie Femmecee & Hip Hop Feminisms."
The lecturer, a postdoctoral collaborator in Black studies who uses the pronouns they/they,
praised Minaj for her response and stated that the class was interested in critically analysing Minnaj
and her productions in the light of larger historical-social structures and hip-hop feminisms.
