'Yellowstone' Season Looks Unlikely to Air This Summer amid Reported Production Delays, Kevin Costner Exit

The delayed production schedule follows reports that star Kevin Costner is considering exiting the series

Yellowstone fans may have to wait a bit longer for the conclusion of season 5.

The second half of season 5's production schedule was not explicitly mentioned by Paramount head of development and Production Keith Cox during a panel at PaleyFest on Saturday.

Despite rumors that Yellowstone patriarch John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner, may leave the show, Cox stayed confident that Costner would return

What I can say is that our star, who serves as the show's face, and the executive producer are sure he will continue with it, according to Cox.

New episodes of Yellowstone were supposed to premiere in the summer of 2023, but neither Paramount+ nor a Costner representative quickly responded to PEOPLE's request

The information was released after Costner, the show's creator Taylor Sheridan, and a number of the ensemble members of Yellowstone made a notable absence from the Paleyfest event on Saturday.
